Matching Features

10 passages. Match each statement to the correct option from the box (a person, place or category). An option may be used more than once, and some may not be used at all.

How this question type works
  • First read the box of options (the features) and fix in mind what makes each one distinct.
  • Each statement describes one feature — find the option whose unique detail matches it.
  • An option can match more than one statement, and some options are never used — don't expect a neat one-to-one.
  • The statements are not in the order the options appear in the passage; scan for the idea.
  • Watch for paraphrase: the statement rarely repeats the passage's exact words.

Worked example — let's solve one together

Box: A = Dr Lin · B = Dr Osei · C = Dr Vega.

Passage: “Dr Osei was the first to show that short naps improve memory.”

Statement: demonstrated a benefit of brief daytime sleep.

Answer: B. The statement paraphrases Dr Osei's finding about naps. Match the idea to the right person in the box.

Match each statement to the correct option (A–D)

Carry into the mock: read the option box first and pin down what makes each option unique — then match statements to those unique details.
