Sentence Completion

10 passages. Complete each sentence with words from the passage. Write NO MORE THAN TWO WORDS for each answer. Spelling must be correct.

How this question type works
  • Answers must be words taken from the passage — don't paraphrase or invent your own.
  • Obey the word limit exactly. ‘NO MORE THAN TWO WORDS’ means one or two words, never three.
  • Predict the kind of word the gap needs (a noun? a number? an adjective?) before you search.
  • The sentence paraphrases the passage, so find the matching idea, then lift the exact word.
  • Copy the spelling carefully — a misspelt answer is marked wrong.

Worked example — let's solve one together

Passage: “Wide feet stop camels sinking into soft sand.”

Sentence: A camel's ______ feet prevent it sinking into the sand.

Answer: wide. The passage says ‘wide feet’. We lift the exact word and stay within the limit.

Complete each sentence — NO MORE THAN TWO WORDS

Type the word(s) and press Check or Enter. Answers must come from the passage and be spelled correctly.
